Interior Design for a Four Bedroom Apartment

Design Challenge
An apartment is a blank canvas, and each member living in it has their own choices and requirements. The goal is to make every space feel individually catered to, but at the same time, cohesive enough that it feels the same house. The idea was to bring together different elements that feel isolated and incohesive, but make sense overall when the design is complete.
Asset Preparation
Each room has its dedicated assets, prepared or sourced and ready in a catalogue, placed and designed according to the client’s needs. Overall, some areas have sample assets placed to fill out empty spaces or extra room present which may make the area feel deceptively large.
Dynamic angles
To make sure the design is right, shots from multiple different angles are taken, and a dynamic video camera is used to show proper area and spacing in the rooms and the possible walking path of the homeowners.
Lighting and Surfaces
The lighting was placed at the exact spots where the actual electrical connections were present, giving for a more realistic and natural feel for each room. Subsequently, care was taken when designing assets to reflect true material based surface detailing (rough surfaces or fur have diffused reflections, polished wood and metal being shiny and bright reflections).
Apt Floor Plan to Model
Once the floor plan is finalised, a proper measurement and spacing is done, then the assets are made to the given dimensions of the client and the floor plan. each room is then meticulously arranged to ensure the design in 3D is as close as to the 2D visualisation.
Customisable Rooms
The floor plan is not the “be all end all” of the design. Each room has enough extra assets to be convertible to the room of the user’s choice. If a room needs to be switched from a bedroom to a study or a library or even a prayer room, then the user is able to do so.
